Here’s a simple and delicious chocolate brownie cake recipe for you! It combines the best of both worlds—rich and fudgy like brownies, yet light and fluffy like a cake.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients: Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. If you’re using chocolate chips or chopped chocolate, fold them in now.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean (a few crumbs are fine, but you don’t want wet batter).
- Cool: Allow the brownie cake to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
Optional Toppings:
- Powdered sugar
- Whipped cream
- Ice cream
- A drizzle of chocolate sauce or caramel sauce
Enjoy your chocolate brownie cake!
